Everything You Need to Know About Digital Wedding RSVPs

Digital wedding RSVPs have slowly begun replacing “old school” mail-in cards. And let’s be honest: no one ever sent those in on time anyway! Everyone is familiar with QR codes and how to scan them these days—yep, even grandma. They’re at just about every restaurant, especially since the pandemic. So, in many ways, going paperless for your RSVPs seems like a no-brainer!

However, this doesn’t mean they’ve replaced physical invitations. We still like sending a personalized invite to each guest that sets the tone for the wedding day. Plus, who doesn’t love getting a piece of pretty snail mail every once in a while? Still, it’s undeniable that sending digital RSVPs comes with perks. Stick around to find out everything you need to know about this trend!

Benefits of Digital Wedding RSVPs

Since digital RSVPs are quick and easy, one perk of going paperless is there will be fewer tardy guests to hunt down. All they’ll have to do is scan the QR code using their phone—no trip to the post office necessary! Conversely, most traditional RSVP cards sit around in cars or kitchen drawers for weeks before they make it to the mailbox (if ever). Just check to ensure your QR code works before sending it out!

Another perk of digital wedding RSVPs is that they’re low-to-no cost! Will you host other events over your wedding weekend, such as a rehearsal dinner, welcome party, or brunch? You can send digital RSVPs for these events, too. That way, you’ll avoid footing the bill for hundreds of tiny cards.

What Should I Include On My RSVP?

We get this question all the time! Here are the essentials:

When to Send Digital Wedding RSVPs

You should send your digital RSVPs eight weeks before your wedding date. We always recommend this timeline to couples since it allows time for any issues with USPS to resolve. You should also have your guest list finalized in a comfortable timeframe for completing your seating chart and other arrangements!

However, if you’re hosting a destination wedding, you’ll want to bump the timeline up slightly. Send your RSVPs 12 weeks in advance to give your guests more time to determine if travel is feasible.
