Modern and Elegant Fall Backyard Wedding

Allie and Noah’s backyard wedding in October embraced the cozy fall vibes! Their goal was to make their tented reception with 200+ people feel homey and intimate, like everyone was hanging out in the living room of their home. We loved that vision and were thrilled to help them achieve it as their wedding planner. With a few tweaks to the décor and layout, we created a modern, elegant, and welcoming design that was anything but cookie-cutter. More weddings like this one, please!

Planning a Backyard Wedding

To achieve the feeling of “home” that Allie and Noah wanted for their backyard wedding, we focused on seating and décor. We designed a unique layout with a U-shaped head table where the couple and their wedding party would sit. This configuration encouraged closeness and effortless communication. It also placed Allie and Noah in the middle of their favorite people! Moreover, it allowed for fewer tables overall since the U-shape accommodated more seating than a conventional head table.

For the tablescapes, we avoided tall centerpieces with a more formal feel. Instead, we sourced blue and white chinoiserie bud vases and filled them with red and white roses. This detail exuded timeless elegance and reminded the couple of home since the chinoiserie print features throughout the grandparents’ home. Low centerpieces also made it easier for the guests to see each other’s faces and chat while eating dinner. To complete the minimalistic, modern design on the tablescapes, we added soft pink candles and greenery.

In addition, we knew choosing the right vendors was crucial to ensuring Allie and Noah’s comfort on their big day. We selected professionals with easygoing, approachable personalities who we knew would connect with the couple and their guests. They also needed to understand the couple’s vision and respect their desires. Ultimately, we couldn’t have been happier with the team we built—everyone felt like family by the end of the night!

Fall Tented Wedding

When the day finally arrived, it was perfect—full of laughter and dancing in the most comfortable setting imaginable, surrounded by the beautiful fall leaves. Allie and her VIPs got ready inside the residence while Noah and his hung out at a nearby hotel. Then, the couple enjoyed a private first look in the yard before being joined by their bridal parties for portraits.

After the couple exchanged their vows, cocktail hour took place underneath a tent next to the ceremony space. Then, we transitioned everyone into the large tent for the reception. It was an incredible evening, with heartfelt toasts from the couple’s parents and VIPS. Everyone danced the night away underneath the stars!

Our team is honored that Allie and Noah trusted us to bring their wedding vision to life. We loved getting to know them and can’t wait to see what the future has in store!
